Any good SEO resources for beginners…?

Can anyone suggest some solid SEO learning resources? I’m looking for a beginner-friendly course that covers everything I’d need to get started.

I’ve checked out what’s on this forum and some other places but felt a bit overwhelmed by the options on SEMrush. I was considering hiring an SEO agency or consultant, but I thought it’d be good to dig into the basics myself first.

There’s a podcast by Matthew Bertram that I recommend to newcomers—it’s called Unknown Secrets of Internet Marketing. The episodes cover a range of SEO topics, and it’s free to listen. He’s not trying to sell anything, so it’s a good resource for getting started without feeling pressured.

Yeah, but let’s be real—any podcast named Unknown Secrets of Internet Marketing might still have some monetization angle!

Check out LearningSEO.io. It’s all free, and it covers a lot of ground.

Don’t skip Google’s SEO Starter Guide. It’s actually a great place to start for beginners.

The blog on Ahrefs is amazing for learning. Take your time—no need to read everything at once. You can pick up some basics, try things out, and then go back for more.

There are plenty of great resources to help beginners learn SEO. One of the best starting points is Google’s “SEO Starter Guide,” offering foundational insights directly from the creators of the search engine. Moz’s “Beginner’s Guide to SEO” is also highly recommended, covering key SEO concepts like keyword research, on-page optimization, and link-building strategies in a straightforward format. For interactive learning, courses on Coursera and Udemy led by SEO experts provide a structured approach to mastering SEO. Exploring tools like SEMrush and experimenting with these concepts can deepen your understanding. To stay current with algorithm updates and trends, follow reputable SEO blogs and consider attending industry events, such as SEO Echelon, which focuses on medical SEO. With consistent practice, you’ll build a strong SEO foundation to boost your website’s visibility and ranking.
