I’ve been trying out Google Trends for keyword research, but I feel like I’m not using it to its full potential. Anyone got tips on how to use it more effectively for SEO and content planning?
Yeah, Google Trends is awesome for spotting seasonal trends. You can see when interest in certain keywords spikes during the year. I use it to plan content around those peaks.

Oh, how do you do that exactly?
@Alex
Basically, you search for your keyword, and the graph shows you when it’s most popular. Like, for ‘umbrella’ in the US, it peaks in June, so I’d create or optimize content around that time.
One cool trick is to avoid writing about keywords with short-term spikes. Trends can show if a keyword’s popularity is dropping. For example, ‘fidget spinner’ was huge, but now it’s dead.

Yeah, I almost wasted time on a post about that! Google Trends saved me, lol.
Has anyone used the ‘related queries’ feature? It shows what else people search for alongside your keyword. I’ve found some great new keywords this way.

For real? I didn’t even know about that feature. Do you just pop in your main keyword and it gives you related ones?
@AuthorityArchitect2
Exactly! Just scroll down after you search and it shows related searches. You can find rising queries too—great for jumping on trends early.
I’ve also used it to compare regions. Like, if you sell products nationally, you can see which areas search for your product more. It’s pretty useful for local SEO.

Wait, you can filter by region? Didn’t know that. I need to try that for my local business.
@Jafferson
Yeah, just use the location filter after you search for a keyword. It breaks down the popularity by city or state. You can get super targeted with your ads or content!
Anyone used it for YouTube keywords? I noticed trends differ between Google and YouTube. People are searching for stuff differently on both platforms.

Yeah, I checked that out too! Google Trends lets you filter for YouTube search trends. Great for video SEO!
@basiroukiba
No way, I had no idea you could filter for YouTube. I gotta test that out for my channel.
