Anyone using AI for SEO? What works and what is just hype?

Curious how people are using AI for SEO these days. It was everywhere for a while, but now that the hype has cooled down a bit, what tools or methods are actually working?

Brightedge just put out a tool that helps generate titles and descriptions automatically.

I think more SEO tools are adding AI, and they are way ahead of individual SEOs and agencies when it comes to building something useful. It makes sense to see where things go.

AI is good for planning, creating outlines, and getting first drafts done quickly. Tools like Jasper and ChatGPT make things easier, but you still have to be careful when publishing AI-generated content.

A lot of clients are now asking if AI is used in the content they pay for, especially when they see how long writing takes. It’s definitely changing expectations.

Everything I use for SEO has some AI built in. I rely on ChatGPT, Semrush, Tubebuddy, and a few other tools.

I use a mix of AI tools. SEOClarity has a feature that bulk-optimizes page titles and descriptions. I also use ChatGPT plugins for keyword research and content planning.

That said, I still go through and manually check everything. AI saves time, but it doesn’t replace real editing. Results have been hit or miss, but at the very least, it speeds things up in the early stages.

Mostly, I use AI as a talking point to explain to clients that the way we’ve always done things is still effective.

We tested AI content against what our copywriters produce, and so far, Google isn’t impressed. Most AI-written content doesn’t perform well over time.

Some AI tools claim to generate SEO-optimized content, but they don’t actually rank any better. Community tests show that AI-generated articles tend to drop off after 4-6 months when Google updates its algorithm.

AI does help me with small tasks like coding and Excel formulas, but that’s not unique to SEO.

Lately, more sites are blocking ChatGPT from scraping their content, so I think AI in SEO might be peaking.

One thing I’ve been using AI for is writing alt text for images. I just tell it what the image is, and it writes an alt description that includes relevant keywords.

I hate writing those manually, so this has been a big time saver. Not sure if it’s a solid SEO strategy, but it’s a nice shortcut.

ChatGPT 4 is great for outlining content. I usually start with an AI-generated outline, then refine it using competitor analysis and NeuronWriter.

I also use Notion AI to organize content strategies, like assigning topics and structuring internal links.

For now, AI is mostly useful for the admin side of SEO. I haven’t found anything that completely replaces manual work, but it does make some tasks less time-consuming.

I use AI to check my writing and make sure I include the right words for SEO. Jasper helps with that by optimizing word usage, but I find that AI-generated text often feels too stiff.

I tried using AI-generated content for a project, but it didn’t perform well in search rankings. Google seems to devalue it over time.

It might be useful for brainstorming, but I wouldn’t rely on it for writing full articles.

@Gordon
Yeah, I’ve seen the same thing. AI content might work for short-term traffic, but long-term, human-written articles still perform better.
