I’m wondering what time is best for posting on Instagram. Late-night posts don’t seem to work well.
Timing can really depend on what you’re posting. For me, as a chef, evening posts from 6 to 8 PM bring in the most engagement. A lot of pages seem to do well around then. But timing alone isn’t everything; use strong hashtags, share high-quality content, and interact with followers. Even a little help from marketing agencies can make a difference too.
If you check your account insights, it’ll show when your audience is most active each day. Usually, a good time is around 3-6 PM.

Got it, thanks

How do you actually get to these insights?
@Conan
Just go to your insights tab on Instagram.

You might need a business profile for it

If it helps, this is where you find it: switch to a pro account, go to insights, then ‘total followers’ and scroll down.
Generally, mid-morning or early evening works well for engagement. Play around with times to see what works best for you.
Thanks so much

This really clicks for me. Definitely going to try adjusting my post timing. Thanks!
Here’s what I’ve noticed works:
- Peak: 12-3 pm and 5-7 pm (EST)
- High engagement: 8-10 am and 10 pm-12 am
- Avoid: 3-6 am
These times could vary depending on your followers, but hopefully, this gives you a starting point!

Thank you, really helpful!

No problem! What’s your niche if you don’t mind sharing?

I’m into flowers!
Honestly, does it even matter anymore? IG changed up how feeds work, but maybe it’s just me noticing that.

Yep, I’ve heard the same.

For real. Back in 2016, I’d get hundreds of likes just from hashtags alone, now it’s a whole different story.
TikTok timing doesn’t seem to matter as much, but with IG it still helps to post when your followers are active. But yeah, try not to stress too much about exact timing.

Yeah, no more night posts for me
