I currently have a website for my remodeling business, but I’m thinking of creating a separate website for roofing since it’s a different niche. Should I use the same company name for both sites or abbreviate the name for SEO purposes? Would having two websites hurt or help with SEO? What would you recommend?
Stick with one website:
- It’s easier to manage and cheaper.
- You consolidate authority in one place, which takes time to build.
- You can create dedicated landing pages for each service under one domain.
One website is better. You can rank for different terms on individual pages while boosting your site’s overall authority.
I’d go with one site. You can target keywords for both niches on separate pages of the same site. This builds authority and can help with SEO. Having two sites for the same brand might confuse search engines and lower your overall ranking.
You can have as many sites as you want, but it’s often simpler to have one site with dedicated sections for different services.
One site is the way to go.
If the niches are truly separate, two websites can work. Just make sure you’re targeting unique keywords for each site.
Personally, I’d recommend sticking with one site. I’ve been researching roofing a lot recently—feel free to message me if you want to discuss.
