Is there a cheaper option than Ahrefs?

@Zachary
You can also get reports on Fiverr for $5.

Does Screaming Frog have a monthly plan?

Nope, it’s annual only.

I think SE Ranking is good, but I wouldn’t compare Mangools with Ahrefs.

I’ll echo some of the advice here. Keysearch is a good option for the price. Keywords Everywhere is also decent for what it costs. But remember, the data you get from Google Search Console is often more reliable than any third-party tool.

@Erik
You’re right, I mainly use ChatGPT and Bing for brainstorming keywords, not for search volume.

You don’t actually need a paid tool. Google Trends, Analytics, and Search Console along with a good sense of your niche can cover most needs. The more I do SEO, the more I feel these tools are all right but nothing beats real data and focused content.

@Sullivan
Thanks for reminding me about Google Trends! I tend to forget it’s there.

No worries, happy to help!

I’d suggest looking into SE Ranking. It’s a strong choice for those on a budget, with a good set of tools. While Mangools and Screaming Frog are useful, they’re designed for different things, so they won’t fully replace Ahrefs.

@Dalton
Anyone here tried SE Ranking? I’m looking for a more affordable alternative to Ahrefs as well.

I’ve used SE Ranking for a few months and find it very solid for the price. It’s also easy to navigate.

What’s the learning curve like for these tools? I’m comfortable with Ahrefs but wonder if switching would be tough.

Ubersuggest is quite beginner-friendly.

I like Mangools.

Agreed, Mangools is a solid tool.

I recommend SEO Powersuite. It took me a while to get used to it, but it’s much cheaper than Ahrefs and other top-tier platforms. It’s good for smaller local businesses.

I find SEObserver to be the best tool if I had to choose only one. Ahrefs’ DA metric isn’t reliable; Majestic’s Citation Flow is better for authority checks.
