Is Yoast still one of the best SEO plugins or are there better options?

I stopped using Yoast years ago after it had major security issues twice in a short period.

I’ve been using All In One SEO since then without issues.

All the major SEO plugins are bloated these days. They add a lot of extra features that most people don’t need.

Yoast has a 4.8-star rating on WordPress.org, but if you look at recent reviews, it’s probably closer to 2.5 stars. It feels like the rating is boosted by people who reviewed it years ago.

Yeah, and it’s starting to feel outdated.

RankMath is a better option than Yoast.

RankMath started off great, but now it feels just as bloated as Yoast.

When people say ‘bloat,’ do they mean it slows down the site, or are they just referring to too many features?

For me, it’s more about the UI being cluttered and the backend feeling slower.

I’ve used Yoast for years, and it still works fine for me.

If you haven’t tried RankMath or All In One SEO, you might be missing out. These tools are great for usability, but at the end of the day, no plugin will make or break your SEO. It’s more about content and strategy.

SEO Framework is solid. The developer is active in forums, and it’s lightweight compared to Yoast or RankMath.

That said, SEO isn’t just about a plugin. You can get good rankings with a well-structured theme and strong content.
