Lost backlinks hurting my site… how can I recover?

I’ve seen a drop in my site’s traffic lately, and after checking, I found out that several backlinks have disappeared. I tried reaching out to the site owners, but no luck so far. What else can I do to get things back on track? Is regularly tracking backlinks the best way to prevent this from happening again?

How did you lose your backlinks? Can you explain a bit more?

Some of the sites that were linking to my pages either removed the links or took their pages offline. I’ve already reached out to a few of them, but I haven’t had much luck getting the links restored.

If the backlinks weren’t permanent, there’s not much you can do to claim them back. But if they were supposed to be permanent, then you have a case to reach out again. Otherwise, it’s really hard to get them back once they’re gone.

Losing backlinks is always tough. Regularly tracking them is definitely a good move. I’d suggest using a tool like Linksguardian or something similar that monitors your backlinks 24/7. That way, you can spot any issues early on and reach out before it affects your traffic too much. It’s all about catching these things early.

Aside from contacting the site owners, there’s not much you can do. You can’t really force anyone to keep linking to your site. In the future, you could try focusing on getting more quality and reliable links, but even then, there’s no way to completely avoid losing some.
