I own a business that offers guided quad tours, and for the past year, I’ve been managing Google Ads on my own. I have a campaign with the goal of maximizing clicks, averaging about 600 clicks per day with a budget of 150 euros. My top of the page rate is 80%, and the absolute top of the page rate is 18%.
Recently, I set up another campaign with the goal of targeting impression share. Yesterday, I adjusted its goal to absolute top of the page rate and set the impression share to 30%. However, today, my main campaign’s cost-per-click (CPC) jumped from 0.25 euros, which it had been for the past two months, to 0.42 euros. This change also increased the absolute top of the page rate to 29%.
I’m confused as to why the change in one campaign affected the other. My main goal is to get the most clicks for the least amount of money. Should I focus more on targeting the absolute top of the page rate, and which campaign is better for clicks or impressions? I’m a bit lost. Thank you in advance.
