I have a client who needs SEO support for their WordPress site with an ecommerce addition. Shopify seems popular with competitors, not just the buy button but the full system. The Buy Button looks simple to use and has a nice interface. Are there any SEO, development, or scalability downsides with Shopify? Would you recommend using WooCommerce instead?
WooCommerce is better than Shopify. Why keep paying monthly fees when you can use WooCommerce for free? Most people who push Shopify do it because they make money from Shopify referrals, not because they love using it.
@Nicky
That’s a good point and helps a lot. Thanks for explaining.
WordPress and WooCommerce are solid and not going anywhere. It’s worth learning them and sticking with it.
Shopify might be easier for beginners, but WooCommerce gives you more control in the long run. It also has better SEO integration since it’s built on WordPress.

Exactly. With WooCommerce, you own your platform and don’t rely on a third party.
The Shopify Buy Button can be handy for simplicity, but WooCommerce is more flexible for customization. Think about how much control your client needs.
If SEO is a top priority, WooCommerce on WordPress wins. Shopify is okay but has some SEO limitations compared to WordPress.
