Looking forward to your suggestions!

Start with keyword research to target relevant terms, optimize on-page elements like titles and meta descriptions, create high-quality content, and build backlinks. Regularly monitor performance and adjust strategies based on analytics.

SEO is an ongoing process where you continually learn and adapt. The process itself also takes time. To get started, you might consider taking some courses like The Beginner’s Guide to SEO (Moz) for newcomers and the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Training Course (Simplilearn).

I highly recommend joining Slack groups or forums to discuss SEO with others, exchange ideas, and get tips. As with anything, hands-on practice is key. Once you understand the basics, set up a page and experiment with it. This will help you explore and discover what works best.

There’s an excellent course on Udemy called “The Ultimate SEO Training + SEO For Wordpress Websites” that was very helpful for me in learning the basics. A great way to learn is by creating a blog about a topic you’re passionate about and then optimizing it for SEO. It’s enjoyable to monitor the traffic statistics and see the results.

From my experience, the best way to start a professional SEO career is to secure a junior SEO role at an established company. This allows you to observe how SEO processes are managed, receive guidance from experienced specialists, and learn to use the essential tools.

If that’s not an option for you, you can follow a proven SEO checklist (such as the one from Backlinko) which includes:

  • Keyword research (identify relevant keywords with search volume)
  • Content writing and optimization (optimize site content for your target keywords)
  • Meta tags optimization (optimize titles, descriptions, internal link anchors, etc.)
  • Technical SEO (address common issues like bad redirects and broken links using tools like Website Auditor or Screaming Frog)
  • Link building (analyze competitors’ backlinks and seek similar opportunities)

I hope this helps!

Great point! I’d suggest doing both: seek guidance from experienced SEO managers (perhaps by taking on some part-time remote assignments) while also managing your own website and practicing optimization techniques.
