What is a good number of clicks and impressions for a 3-month-old blog with no backlinks?

I am learning SEO and want to know what would be considered good numbers for a new blog. The blog is 3 months old, and I haven’t created any backlinks yet. Is there a benchmark I should aim for?

How long is a piece of string?

I just want to mention that I see you a lot on this forum. I really appreciate how much you contribute here.

Given how short your reply is, I just want to be clear I’m not being sarcastic. From what I’ve learned about SEO, your answer makes sense and was actually pretty funny too.

Thank you.

No, really, thanks! I also like how your profile picture stands out. Makes it easy to recognize you. Seems like you might know a thing or two about branding.

There are so many variables here. It depends on the niche, the competition, where your clicks and impressions are coming from, and how long visitors stay on your site. At this stage, you should focus on consistent growth rather than specific numbers.

For a new site, getting around 500 to 1,000 impressions a month shows that Google is starting to notice you. A click-through rate of 1-2 percent is a decent start. Focus on creating helpful content and targeting long-tail keywords with low competition. Don’t stress if the numbers are small now—it takes time to grow.

Right now, I have about 2,000 impressions and 119 clicks after 3 months. I’ve only published seven blog posts so far. Does that mean I’m doing SEO correctly?

It really depends on what’s affecting your conversion rate.

What’s considered too much? And what’s considered too little?
