Lately, I’ve been thinking about how AI tools are taking over many parts of SEO. With all these changes, what skills do you think SEO pros need to stay ahead of the game?
AI is doing to SEO what Photoshop did to graphic design. Learn it, make it part of your workflow, and use it to boost your productivity. But don’t just follow what AI says blindly; if you don’t understand the basics, you’ll get left behind. Use AI, but stay in control.
@Isidro
Totally agree. It still needs a human touch. AI isn’t perfect yet. For example, Grammarly’s AI assistant helps me fine-tune content I’ve already written, making my work better and more efficient.
@Isidro
Yep, AI is a big change, but it’s still a tool. Knowing the basics of SEO is still key. Use AI to improve your strategies, but don’t let it do all the work.
@Isidro
That’s a solid point!
It’s more about how Google Search might change in the future. If they start using AI-generated results and ads dominate the top of search pages, it’ll be hard to see how your SEO work influences things. For now, SEO basics still apply.
I think some of the comments here miss the point. If AI becomes too good at generating content, it could affect how people see SEO, but it still needs human input.

Yeah, but some AI-generated stuff is just… not great. There’s still a need for real, human-created content.
AI will help streamline things for professionals a lot… until we reach AGI. Then it might change everything.

What’s AGI?

What’s AGI?
Just look it up… it’s Artificial General Intelligence, when AI becomes more integrated, almost like a super smart assistant.
@Casey
Got it, thanks!
@Casey
Do you think AGI could handle SEO as well as a human?

We’re not there yet with AGI, but who knows in the future.
AI could seriously change how we get information online. It might even replace Google someday.

Not sure. I like how Google’s AI features work. I usually get what I need without even leaving the search page.

Yeah, it’ll be interesting to see how things evolve!
AI is going to change SEO, but it’s still evolving. The SEO from 10 years ago focused on broad keywords, but now it’s all about understanding what users want right now.
People often use AI to get quick answers without doing deep research. This means SEO might focus more on providing in-depth content or services.
For example, you might use AI to plan a vacation, then go on Google to find flights and hotels. AI helps at the start, but businesses will still need to stand out for the rest.
I’m learning about using AI for SEO and also studying data science. It’s important to keep up with new skills.
With how tricky SEO has gotten lately, I sometimes joke that I might end up flipping burgers if things get worse.
