What's the best SEO plugin for WordPress and why?

Which plugin do you use? Yoast, RankMath, SEO Framework?

More importantly, what specific reasons led you to choose your preferred option?

SEOPress. It’s lightweight and easy to use.

Avoid Yoast at all costs—they have a history of bad updates and bugs.

Agree on Yoast. It has a habit of breaking after theme updates.

I’ve used Yoast for years without any issues. Can you list specific features of SEOPress that make it better?

@Grady
SEOPress has never released an update that tanked rankings, unlike Yoast. It’s also lighter and skips unnecessary features like ‘green light’ scoring.

SEO Framework. It’s very light and provides just the essentials. No bloated UI or unnecessary suggestions.

What do you like most about it? How does it compare to Yoast?

@Leonel
It does exactly what’s needed—nothing extra. No keyword recommendations or fancy features, just solid metadata management.

Rank Math

Rank Math

Pro version is worth it.

SEO Framework is great. It’s lightweight, provides good control over metadata and schema, and avoids cluttering the UI.

RankMath. No bugs, and the instant indexing feature is a nice bonus.

Trying out Zynith, a newer, lightweight SEO plugin developed by SEOs. No automation, so you have full control.

What about AIO SEO? I use the free version, but is it worth switching to something else?

I use Yoast because it offers comprehensive features for on-page SEO, content analysis, sitemaps, and social media integration.

Yoast’s XML sitemap feature is buggy—it keeps old, deleted URLs.

All you really need is a way to manage 301 redirects, page titles, and schema. The rest is overcomplicated.

WP Rocket helps with speed optimization, which indirectly benefits SEO.

Any good free SEO plugins?
