About 8 months ago, we set up RankMath Pro on one of our sites and started tracking our Google search rankings. After some time, we managed to get on the first page for our targeted keywords.
However, in the past month, I’ve noticed we’re no longer on the first few pages of Google search results. I’m wondering what might have gone wrong. Did I make a mistake somewhere?
Any advice, tips, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
In the December core update, we noticed that Google seems to be evaluating entire websites more than just individual pages. This could be related to site quality as a whole, which might explain what you’re experiencing.
Can I take a look at your website? By the way, I don’t use RankMath since I build my sites manually. Relying on a tool like RankMath means you’re dependent on their programmers to make your site rank. I’d recommend researching SEO yourself or hiring someone experienced.

If you have an SEO report, that might help you troubleshoot the problem. It’s also likely that your competitors have higher domain authority than you.
There it is again—the argument that content alone is enough to rank. Downvotes happen because it challenges their belief system.
If your site was ranking, were you getting actual traffic, or were you just satisfied that it was on the first page?
I had a page rank in the top spot for 3 years, but it dropped to the second page last November. Competitors improved their content, and their sites had more authority. It wasn’t a surprise.
I reviewed my page, made some adjustments, and it’s now back at the bottom of the first page. It might’ve happened even without my changes, but I think adding some backlinks to boost authority would help it even more.
