I keep hearing about using keywords for SEO, but IDK if I’m doing it right. Like, what are keywords exactly and how do I find the right ones? Anyone got tips?
So how do you choose which keywords to use? There’s like a million options, lol.

Keywords are just the words or phrases people type into Google to find stuff. For example, if you’re looking for a jacket, you might type ‘mens leather jacket’. It’s basically the same thing.
Ah, I always thought keywords were just one word. Good to know it can be a whole phrase!

Yeah, they can be phrases too! It’s what people type in when they’re searching for something. Helps you show up in search results.
You can find keywords using tools like Ahrefs or Google’s Keyword Planner. They help you find what people are searching for and how often. Anyone here use a different tool?

I use Keywords Everywhere—it’s a browser extension that gives you keyword data right on the search results page. Super handy!
@Zachariah
What kind of data does it give you?
@Zachariah
It shows search volume, cost per click, and competition for the keywords. It’s pretty detailed for a free tool!

Focus on ones that have good search volume but aren’t too competitive. Also, make sure they’re relevant to what you’re offering.
@Dolph
Yeah, no point ranking for ‘cute cat pics’ if you’re selling SEO tools, right?
What’s the difference between SEO and PPC? I’m kinda confused about that.

SEO is when you optimize your website to show up in the free (organic) search results. PPC is when you pay Google to show up at the top for specific keywords.
@Samantha
So PPC is basically like an ad, right?
@Samantha
Exactly! You bid on keywords, and if someone clicks on your ad, you pay Google. It’s good if you want quick results, but SEO is better long-term because it’s free.
Anyone else think long-tail keywords are easier to rank for? I’ve had more success with those.

Totally. Less competition since fewer people are searching for them. But you gotta rank for a bunch of them to see real traffic.
