I need some advice on an SEO issue. I’ve got two identical webpages (just different languages) aimed at two countries.
One is doing great, ranking #1 for some competitive keywords.
The other was doing well too until it got flagged in Search Console for ‘Bad URLs’ under Core Web Vitals (slow speed).
I fixed the speed issues, and for the past 14 days, Search Console shows ‘Good URLs.’ But it’s been almost three months since the ‘Bad URLs’ flag first appeared, and my rankings still haven’t bounced back.
I’m convinced this page should be ranking much higher based on comparisons with competitors. The drop happened exactly when the ‘Bad URLs’ issue showed up.
A couple of questions:
Will my rankings recover eventually? If so, how long does that usually take?
Since I haven’t launched the business yet, should I start over with a new site and redirect backlinks?
Has anyone dealt with ‘Bad URLs’ and seen their rankings recover after fixing them? I’d really appreciate any insights.
No manual penalty on the site. Technical SEO is solid. My domain authority is stronger than sites that rank higher.
It usually takes some time for Google to reflect the fixes in rankings. Even after getting ‘Good URLs’ status, it can take a few months before you see improvements. If it’s been 14 days since the fix, you’re on the right track. But full recovery can take anywhere from 2 to 6 months.
As for starting over, I wouldn’t recommend it.
You’ve already fixed the issues.
Your domain authority is solid.
Starting from scratch might set you back more.
I’d suggest:
Keep an eye on Core Web Vitals in Search Console.
Focus on content and SEO while waiting for the rankings to stabilize.
Maybe optimize further if possible.
Back up all your current backlinks and site setup.
It sounds like the site is in good shape, and your success with the other language page shows your approach works. Just give it some time. If nothing changes in another month or so, you could try posting your issue in Google’s support forums with all the details.
