Hi everyone, I’ve been using Semrush for SEO, and while it’s a great tool, the cost is a bit much for small projects or beginners. Are there any affordable or free alternatives that work well for keyword research, backlink analysis, and site audits?
Here’s what I need:
Keyword Research: Something with accurate search volume and competition insights.
Site Audits: Tools to fix technical SEO issues.
Backlink Analysis: A way to track backlinks for my site and competitors.
I’ve heard about Ahrefs, Moz, and Ubersuggest, but they seem expensive too. Are there other tools or creative methods you’ve used for SEO without spending too much? Thanks!
I wouldn’t rely too much on the Semrush audit tool. In many cases, hosting providers block their crawler, so you don’t get accurate results. For technical audits, I recommend Sitebulb or Screaming Frog. If you can spend a bit more, Oncrawl and Deep Crawl are also excellent.

SE Ranking seems affordable. I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion!
I’ve been using SE Ranking after finding Semrush too expensive. It’s working great for my side clients so far. Give it a couple of months to see real results.
For keyword research, try Keysearch—it’s cheaper and reliable. For site audits, maybe SEOptimer. Backlink tools are generally costly. For SERP tracking, check out SERPFox.

I’ve never heard of Keysearch. I’ll look into it. For site audits, I meant more for keyword ideas and related insights.

Instead of tools, you could use agencies that offer free audits. Just an idea.

Screaming Frog is fantastic for technical SEO and offers great value for its price.
Is the license valid for one website, or can you use it across multiple sites?
It’s a local program, so you can use it for as many sites as you want. It’s free for up to 500 pages, and the paid version is very affordable. You can even integrate it with GA4, Search Console, and other tools for better insights.
Has anyone tried SEO Stuff? I’m looking for something for keyword research. I’ve been using Google’s Keyword Planner, but I want more detailed insights.
