I focus a lot on website speed and always aim for a score of 90 or higher, ideally 100. This often means I have to leave out some features. For example, I didn’t include a contact form on this landing page to get a perfect score. Now, I’m wondering if that was the right choice.
What do you think? Does website speed affect rankings?
Optimizing for speed is definitely worth it. With 60M organic visits a year, 5% of which load slower than 2 secs, we’re losing 2-10x more conversions. That’s a $1.2M hit in lost sales! So, focusing on UX alone justifies the speed boost.
I suspect it will have no impact on small volume keywords, local searches and niches ones that are not big autoritative sites that have already optimized their content.
