I’m NOT actually planning to try this, but I saw a discussion on BlackHatWorld and found the concept interesting.
Has anyone here successfully ranked a site using AI-generated content? What was your experience?

It all comes down to how you use, edit, and moderate AI-generated content.
I’ve seen experienced SEO professionals use AI to generate article drafts based on keyword mind maps. It’s not a one-click process, but it speeds up writing significantly. After some manual edits and adding images or videos, the results can be competitive with human-written articles.
With tools like EditorNinja or other proofreading services, AI content can be polished into high-quality articles at a fraction of the time and cost.
@Reagan
I’ve been testing some AI writing tools using demo credits from /u/famerazak. So far, I’ve noticed they require a lot of tweaking, re-writing, and manual editing.
However, they’re great for overcoming writer’s block and generating structured content. Some tools even integrate with SEO platforms to help with keyword optimization, though I haven’t tested that yet.
I also found that AI-generated post outlines are excellent for brainstorming new content ideas.
@Ivan
If you’re already familiar with your niche, AI content tools like Conversion.ai are powerful.
I wrote a 2,000-word nutrition article in under an hour, and it was well-optimized for SEO. Tools like Frase even analyze top-ranking SERP results to refine content further.
For content creators selling services on Fiverr or Upwork, AI can boost efficiency and profitability.

We built an AI tool that generates bulk content based on topics and keywords, streamlining the content creation process.

That keyword mind map approach sounds a lot like how First Draft AI works…
I use AI-generated content daily. I work with tools like Frase, MarketMuse, Outranking.io, and Conversion.ai. AI writing isn’t a one-click solution, but it streamlines the content process by:
It saves a huge amount of time, and the content ranks well when used strategically.

Thanks for the recommendations!

Each tool serves a different purpose:
My workflow involves using Frase to structure an article, MarketMuse for keyword clustering, and Outranking for metadata. If I need to rewrite existing content, I use SmartWriter.ai.
This approach lets me create optimized content that stands out in SERPs.

This was posted a year ago. Are you still using these tools, or have you found better ones?
Six months ago, I would have told you AI-generated content is terrible for SEO. But after testing it, my opinion changed.
AI content isn’t as bad as I expected. It reads like it was written by a fluent non-native speaker.
My strategy:
This saves a huge amount of time without hurting rankings.
@Riley
Interesting take! I hadn’t thought about splitting content that way. Thanks for sharing.
@Riley
Do you fact-check AI-generated content? AI sometimes invents ‘facts,’ which could hurt credibility if left unchecked.

We use AI-generated content mostly for home services. We proofread everything, but our focus isn’t on authority-building—just ranking pages effectively.
AI content is both impressive and disappointing. It forms proper sentences, but the quality and originality are lacking.
I feel Google will detect and penalize AI-generated content before it becomes truly human-like. Relying too much on AI means you’re just rehashing competitor content instead of innovating.
Personally, I focus on writing fully original content, which is why I still get traffic from articles I wrote five years ago.
@Nora
Originality is relative.
Unless you’re inventing new concepts, most content online is based on existing information. AI-generated content isn’t truly ‘original,’ but neither is most human-written content.
The key is adding personal insights and unique perspectives.
I use Copy.ai, and it’s great for producing 1,200-word articles that rank well.
My workflow:
Even though I need to refine the AI output, the content consistently performs well in search results.
I’ve been using AI-generated content regularly. It works fine for ranking pages, especially for niche sites.
I even have an old Lorem Ipsum test site that’s still indexed and ranking after 8 months.
I recently started using Conversion AI, and while it’s not perfect, it’s surprisingly effective.
So, based on this thread, AI-generated content is actually a useful tool when used correctly. Today I learned!
