How can I boost my Google reviews?

I have a small, single-location business and want to increase my Google reviews. I’ve noticed many businesses get hundreds of reviews each month that seem to stay up. I’ve tried reaching out to companies, but they often say Google flags them or only offer 5-star ratings. I’d prefer to find a reliable way to get natural-looking reviews that will help my business stand out without risking my profile.

I’ve also tried sending review links to happy customers, but despite follow-ups, they rarely leave feedback. I’m hoping someone here can share ideas or strategies that have worked to build up real reviews over time.

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!

Hey, I could leave a review for you if you can leave one for my restaurant here in Germany! Here’s my business link.

So you’re asking how to be ‘honest’ about using fake reviews? Doesn’t sound like the best approach.

Be cautious with fake reviews. Google can sometimes catch on and crack down on accounts unexpectedly. Instead, maybe offer discounts to customers who leave genuine reviews, or create a small reward program for employees who encourage reviews from customers. We do this where I work, and it helps get a few new reviews each day.

Best of luck getting those reviews up; they really do help drive more traffic.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve tried offering discounts and rewards but haven’t had much luck. I’m the only one working here, and I need at least a few reviews to qualify for Google Guarantee. If you have any SEO recommendations or companies you’ve had good results with, I’d appreciate it!

@Aurelio
Totally understand. Have you tried asking friends or family for those initial few reviews to qualify? I know a reliable SEO company, but they mainly focus on home services. Let me know if you’re interested.

@Lian
Yes, I’d be interested in an affordable SEO option since I’m a small business. If it works well, I could invest more as we grow.

Affordable can be tricky, but I can share their info if you message me. I’ve been in digital marketing a while, so feel free to reach out if you need specific advice.

Instead of fake reviews, try something like Review Tools with RFID cards that bring up the review page instantly on customers’ phones. Asking them to mention the server’s name makes it personal and more likely to be a 5-star.

If you’re okay with the risk, why not set up some accounts with different IP addresses and write a few yourself? Just a thought.

I’ve read Google can detect if they’re all coming from the same network or device. Seems risky.

Be cautious with fake reviews. It’s not worth the risk if Google flags your account.

I get that, but I’ve seen other businesses with loads of reviews that seem fine. I wonder if there’s a safe way to approach this.
