Hey everyone, I’m working on my career in SEO and I want to learn from experienced people about what they do in an SEO audit. Basically, I’m asking what steps you take and how you go about it. I’ve watched a lot of videos and taken some courses, but I still feel like I’m missing something. I don’t have anyone to give me guidance or mentorship in this, so any help would be really appreciated.
Here before you start knowing how you conduct an SEO Audit… first ask yourself this question
- What is an SEO audit?
- Why is an SEO audit Important?
When You get the answer of the two question now do this:
Here’s a streamlined process:
- Technical Analysis: Check the site’s technical health, such as indexing, mobile-friendliness, load times, and secure connections.
- On-Page SEO Evaluation: Analyze keyword optimization, meta tags, header tags, and URL structures. Ensure images have alt text and that the content is high-quality.
- Content Review: Assess content quality and structure, checking for duplication and alignment with target keywords.
- Off-Page SEO Analysis: Use tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush to examine backlinks and compare your site’s profile to competitors’.
- Competitor Analysis: Learn from competitors’ SEO strategies to identify what works and potential areas for improvement.
- Usability and User Experience: Ensure the site is user-friendly, with easy navigation and clear calls-to-action.
- SEO Reporting and Tools: Leverage Google Analytics to understand user interactions and measure the effectiveness of SEO efforts.
- Action Plan: Develop a prioritized plan to address identified issues based on their impact and resource requirements.
Engage with SEO communities on platforms like Reddit or LinkedIn for deeper insights and keep updated through SEO blogs like Search Engine Journal and Moz Blog. SEO requires ongoing learning and adaptation—good luck!
This post is great! It shows initiative (learning from videos/courses) & expresses a clear need for mentorship (lacks guidance). Engaging & asks a specific question (SEO audit steps).
