Focus on building up your website first – add content, offer services, or sell something valuable. Set up lead magnets, get your pages indexed, be active on social media, and most importantly, stay patient. No point in spending on ads if the site isn’t ready to make sales or if it’s lacking enough content to draw traffic.
Honestly, the internet has grown so huge that it’s much tougher now for new sites to break through. Those who started decades ago have a huge edge. If you’re not making any money yet, invest in the basics: hosting, maybe a premium theme or plugin, and even Canva for graphics. I’d skip Ahrefs until you have traffic. Stick to free tools and just focus on building solid content.
It depends on your approach. Are you building a site or selling SEO services? You could land a client paying over $1000 a month if you’re skilled, and that’s probably the quickest way to hit 1k. I’d set up a simple landing page highlighting my services, target clients on LinkedIn, and maybe run a few Google Ads in a specific local area.
If starting a site, I’d look for a niche with low competition keywords and focus heavily on content and social media presence.
From what I’ve seen, I’d go for an e-commerce site, as they tend to rank better than content sites lately.
But with only $1K, it’s tough to fully set up an e-commerce site and stock products. Maybe start with dropshipping to keep initial costs low, then consider moving to your own products later on?
