I’ve been doing link-building through HARO, Connectively, and similar platforms for a while now. It’s been my side hustle for a few years, and I’ve been pretty successful with it. On average, I’m getting about a 20% conversion rate, with backlinks that have a Domain Rating (DR) around 75 and traffic over 70k.
The thing is, I’m actually earning more from this side gig than from my main job (which isn’t saying much since I’m in a third-world country). Now, I’m seriously considering making this my full-time job. But I’m stuck on one key question: How much should I charge for these backlinks? I’ve been working through middlemen, getting paid anywhere from $50 to $120 per link, but I feel like I could do better on my own.
I’ve tried Upwork but haven’t had much success there, and recently, a few clients just ghosted me after the work was done, which is super frustrating. I’m trying to figure out how to level up in this field. Should I aim to land a job with an agency (although I’ve been rejected many times because they don’t hire from my part of the world), or is there a better way to find clients directly?
I really need some direction and clarity. Looking forward to your advice!
Hello,
The price for a backlink can vary widely, Ranging from $50 to $500 or more, depending on factors like the website’s authority, niche relevance, and backlink placement.
The price for a backlink can vary widely based on factors like the site’s domain authority, traffic, niche relevance, and the quality of the content. Generally, rates range from $50 to $500 or more per backlink. It’s best to consider the value it brings and the effort involved.
It’s tough to provide a specific range since niches have a big impact, but I’ve seen rates between $50 and $500 and have personally paid between $50 and $200 in my niche.
For a site with about 50k monthly traffic, I’d be willing to pay around $100, and I try not to rely too heavily on Domain Authority since it isn’t always reliable.
