Is using Quora worth it for business promotion and SEO?

I already focus on email newsletters, TikTok, and social media, so I’m wondering if Quora is worth the time or if I should stick to other strategies. Has anyone had good results with Quora for marketing?

From my experience, I found forums like this one a bit easier to manage and saw more results compared to Quora. But it really depends on the niche. For something like skincare, you might find lots of questions on Google that link to Quora, and those could bring traffic if you answer them well.

@Genesis
You’re probably right! It does seem like it’s about consistency. Regularly answering questions and building upvotes over time is likely the best way to get meaningful traffic. Just dropping in occasionally doesn’t seem to be enough—you need to be active.

Skincare has a lot of potential on forums like this. Make sure your website looks credible with things like a good About page, real reviews, and a gallery. A solid social media presence helps too. It’s also useful to link back to your main pages and have strong internal links. These tips worked well for my clients and myself.

@Clint
Thanks for those tips! Just to clarify, I’m familiar with using media platforms like Qwoted for exposure, but my question is specifically about Quora. Do you think it’s effective for skincare e-commerce in terms of traffic or credibility, or should I focus elsewhere?

I’ve tried it out a few times, but it’s a bit mixed for me. I think it really depends on the niche and how much time you’re able to invest in consistently engaging.

Have you noticed any actual results from it?

@Ares
Not much so far, but I haven’t been super active. It’s one of those things where you’d need to put in regular effort.

What do you do exactly on forums like this to get attention? I run a construction business, so should I just make a post about my company?

@Franklin
Many people use forums to get traffic without directly promoting their business. They add value to discussions, answer questions, and share insights that show expertise. Instead of pushing their brand, they focus on being helpful, and this can build credibility over time. Some users may then check out their profile, where they can include a link.

For a small business, I’d say don’t rely on forums alone for organic traffic. It’s best used as part of a wider strategy, like pairing it with social media, email marketing, or targeted ads.

Yeah, I think Reddit or similar forums are probably better, too. Thanks!

You’re already using other forums. Why not just stick with those instead of adding Quora?

I get that. I’m more familiar with other forums, but I heard Quora might bring in more traffic. But maybe it doesn’t make much difference.

@Ares
Honestly, I’ve never tried Quora myself for traffic. But I do see other forums ranking pretty well on Google, often better than Quora. I use a tool to monitor my main keywords and then join conversations where they come up.

@Yusuf
Interesting—thanks for sharing that. Do you find that approach brings in a lot of organic traffic?

A ton? Not really. But the traffic is very relevant.

I used to rely heavily on SEO and got lots of traffic but with low conversions. With forums, I get fewer visits but they tend to convert a lot better.

Quora could definitely help! By setting up a profile and sharing helpful insights, you can build your brand as a reliable source in the field.

Quora is almost like an open source for information, similar to Wikipedia. I’ve seen Quora links appear in Google results, especially with AI-driven searches. So, if you want your brand to pop up there, Quora might be worth a try.
