Missing Canonicals & Outside the `<head>`

Hi y’all,

I’m checking the canonicals for a client’s site built on WordPress. Using Screaming Frog, I’ve discovered that 100% of the pages are missing a canonical, and 100% of them are outside the <head> section. Has anyone encountered this before?

Should I manually add the canonical in the Yoast SEO advanced tab for every page?
