Question about 404 Error and SEO Impact

I’m seeing a bunch of these strange URLs on my site like https://mydomain/page/2/. Is this affecting my SEO, and should I be redirecting them to the homepage?

Having some 404 URLs is pretty normal.

If those URLs aren’t linked internally and aren’t part of your XML sitemap, you should be fine.

If they’re linked internally, that could hurt the user experience and impact your SEO. You might want to check in Google Search Console to see how Google is discovering these URLs and if the number of 404s is growing over time.

should I redirect them?

No, there’s no need to.

Are those pages important to your site content? And are they indexed?

They’re not important and not indexed.

They’re not important and not indexed.

In that case, just leave them as they are.

I noticed some 404s on my site before too. Just curious, are yours indexable?

Are they indexable?

Pages with a 404 status can’t be indexed.

Got it, thanks for the clarification.
