I recently noticed that the backlinks we are paying for are coming from random sites. Specifically, they seem to be from pages created on platforms like Wix to generate backlinks, or from sites that are not related to my industry or country. Some even incorrectly list links from platforms like Trello as backlinks.
Do you think I should consider changing our backlink provider? Are these backlinks contributing to our strategy in any meaningful way? If I make a change, could it negatively impact my website?

Is what they are doing working? Have rankings improved? Traffic? Are you receiving emails from Google re: penalties?
If rankings are improving, and you aren’t being warned by Google, then what they are doing might be working. You may not understand why those links are effective, but your provider does (or should).

These types of links do perform. You can get 5 high-quality, targeted links or 50 random ones, and you might see similar results: improved rankings, which could lead to more traffic and conversions.

They’re making Web 2.0 links for you, which won’t help your ranking much.

Ask them for niche-relevant links. If they don’t provide them, I can help. I do outreach to niche-specific sites and can show you the types of links I’ve built.

That sounds like bad work. It will probably hurt your rankings more than help.

That’s more likely to lower your rankings than to help.

If your provider isn’t giving you links relevant to your business, you should have a discussion with them.

If they can’t provide better links, then switch to a new provider. What’s your niche?

The backlink economy is a waste of electricity and internet.
