What’s next after doubling organic traffic… how do you keep it going?

If you were an SEO Manager and just doubled organic traffic, what would you focus on next to maintain momentum? How would you improve user engagement and boost conversion rates? Thinking about things like user experience, content updates, and any new technologies you’d explore…

The next focus should be on enhancing user engagement and working on conversion rates.

I grew our traffic from 500 clicks to 12k clicks per month in 8 months, and our next step was CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization).

Focus on CRO and align it with the company’s goals. Position yourself as the person who drove quality traffic that led to more leads and sales. This helps establish your role as essential to the company’s success and sets you apart from other marketers.

It’s not just about the traffic volume but about getting the right audience that stays, engages, and converts. You don’t want random visitors leading to high bounce rates and low engagement. It’s about driving relevant traffic and keeping people on your site.

CRO is key. Analyze how many products were sold, do A/B testing, and use the methods that work best. Keep track of everything—trends, clicks, queries, sales, and engagement.

Work on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) and Conversion Rate Optimization while continuing your SEO efforts so you don’t lose the gains if there’s a search engine update.

Doubling traffic isn’t meaningful if it doesn’t translate into conversions. Focus on gaining keyword positions and ranking percentage. Traffic volume alone doesn’t matter if it doesn’t lead to the right outcomes. I’ve seen blogs increase traffic massively without any impact on conversions because they targeted the wrong audience.
