Which web builder do you think is best for SEO?

Hey everyone,

We’re a digital agency from London and have tried a few different web builders with our clients over the years. Some have been easier to work with than others, especially when it comes to SEO. In your experience, what’s the best web builder or platform for SEO?

  1. Webflow
  2. WordPress
  3. Squarespace
  4. Wix
  5. Duda
  6. Coding from scratch
  7. Any others?

Just avoid Webflow. Out of the rest, I’d say go with Wix or WordPress, but only if you know how to set them up properly.

What’s the issue with Webflow? Just curious.

WordPress, hands down. Also, this would’ve made a great poll post!

Squarespace and Wix have their fans, but for serious SEO control, go with self-hosted WordPress. It’s super popular, has tons of plugins, and it’s suitable for sites of any size. You won’t run into limits as you grow.

@Erik
Agree 100%. With a self-hosted CMS, you control everything, including code output, which is a big plus.

WordPress all the way.

WordPress.

WordPress with Cloudflare for caching and security is hard to beat. WordPress does a great job when set up well.

Definitely don’t skimp on hosting with WordPress. Poor hosting affects performance, especially if you use a lot of plugins. Make sure to keep everything updated to avoid security issues.

@Stephen
Managed WP hosting can be worth it, especially if it comes with plugin restrictions that help with security.

We’re big fans of Webflow for certain projects.

Webflow is great, especially for small to medium businesses. Its CDN is solid, too.

Worked with a few agencies using Webflow, and it does pretty well for speed and security without needing extra plugins.

Choosing a platform for SEO is a bit like choosing between a Mac or PC – it’s all about what you do with it. Coding from scratch gives you maximum control, but WordPress is a flexible CMS that can save time.

For maximum performance, HTML and CSS are the way to go. Pure manual coding gets you the best speed.

Nothing beats Notepad for pure control.

WordPress with Oxygen and RankMath.

Why RankMath instead of Yoast? Also, Oxygen is a great builder!

RankMath is faster and less bloated than Yoast. It’s clean and has everything you need.
