Why am I seeing spammy backlinks on my site?

I’m pretty new to SEO, so apologies if this is a basic question!

I recently checked my backlink profile on Google Search Console and found several links from sites that look a bit spammy—about 7 of them don’t seem like real websites. I also used Ahrefs’ free backlink checker, which showed a few links from sites that appear to sell paid backlinks. I’ve never purchased these services, so I’m confused about why they’re linking to my site.

Should I be concerned?

I wouldn’t worry too much about the spammy backlinks. Google probably already knows about them and just ignores them.

Thank you, that’s good to hear.

The bigger your site gets, the more spammy backlinks you might see. Just ignore them, and don’t start disavowing every single one. It’s only a problem if you’re actively building spammy links yourself, which can lead to trouble.

@Cale
Thank you! Definitely not planning to do that.

Just disavow all the links and don’t worry.
