Big traffic boost from Bing, Yahoo, and DDG… anyone else seeing this?

I manage over 15 websites, and most of them saw a drop of around 50-60% in Google search traffic over the last year. But recently, I’m noticing a big recovery thanks to Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo. Traffic from these three has gone up by 200-300% in the past couple of months.

Is this just a coincidence, or are more people moving away from Google?

Technically, those are all Bing-powered results, which might be getting a push from their AI integrations.

I might be one of those users! I’ve almost completely switched to Bing. Honestly, I just don’t like how Google’s search results are set up anymore.

Bing, Yahoo, and DDG are improving their results or just attracting more users. That could explain the traffic boost.

I use Yahoo for its simplicity. No unnecessary clutter like Google’s got now.

Pretty sure Yahoo gets its search results from Bing.

Yeah, but the layout is clean—more like how Google used to be. Less ads, fewer distractions.

@Kane
I remember when Yahoo was the top search engine.

Back then, they even charged $200 just to apply to get listed in their directory.

We’ve also seen more search volume from non-Google engines lately. Can’t really blame people—Google’s changes have been driving users away.

How do the actual numbers look compared to the percentages?

A 300% increase from 30 clicks would just mean 120 clicks, which isn’t huge. Percentages can sometimes make it sound like a bigger shift than it is.

@Mario
For two of my sites, I’m seeing 100-1000 visits per day just from Bing, while Google brings in about 1000-5000. So, Google still makes up around 75% of my search traffic, down from 90%. Most of my traffic is desktop, which I think also plays a part.

I tried switching to DuckDuckGo but still use Google sometimes. Maybe I’ll give Bing a shot next.

I started using Kagi. It’s ad-free and delivers relevant results. I’m much happier with it than Google, Bing, or DDG. You can test it with 100 free searches.

@Wilder
Thanks, I’ll check it out!

@Wilder
Only downside is you have to be logged into an account all the time.

Google’s still great for tech-savvy users, but I think average users might have a harder time finding what they need.

A 200-300% increase could mean just a handful more visitors if you’re starting from a low base.

Haha, good one.
